13HRP – 0013 – Mushroom Women
Description
Entities classified as 13HRP – 0013 – Mushroom Women are humanoid anomalies where fungal growth takes over and reshapes the human body. This creates hybrids that blur the line between body and environment. They usually stand between five and six feet tall, with skin that looks pale and fibrous, like thick fungal tissue. From their backs and shoulders, large caps grow and release glowing spores that drift in the air like colored fog. These spores bend light, making direction hard to judge. Their movements are not random; instead, they follow set patterns, like a kind of ritual dance. Witnesses often compare their steps to a solemn ceremony.
Moreover, their voices add to the ritual effect. They speak with layered tones, like many voices echoing together. Sounds hang in the air longer than normal, leaving a sense of presence. After more than five minutes of exposure, people begin to lose focus. Witnesses report hearing sounds that are not there, seeing unreal images, and feeling drawn to kneel before the Mushroom Women. Survivors often describe the feeling as being “called under the soil.” Therefore, observations suggest the Mushroom Women use not only spores but also thought-based effects, turning perception itself into a weapon.
Classification: Strange Organism – Likely Mirror World origin
Threat Level: Changes – safe for short encounters; deadly with long or heavy exposure
Containment Status: No fixed site; only mobile field units with full safety gear can contain
Behaviour
Mushroom Women often gather in groups of three to seven, standing in circles and creating deep, harmonic sounds. These groups act more like roaming rituals than normal social activity. They are drawn to damp, dark, and decayed places—ruins, rotting forests, and underground spaces. Furthermore, they ignore tools and machines, but their spores corrode and break devices. When outsiders enter their space, the Mushroom Women surround them, chant, and fill the air with spores, driving intruders away by flooding the area instead of direct attack.
In addition, spores act as both biology and mind hazard. Breathing them in bends the mind’s sense of place: forests seem to rewind in time, moss rises into dust, rivers flow upward, and spirals of light eat the sky. People who wake from this often show fungal growth breaking through skin as their bodies begin to join new fungal colonies. Survivors also describe shared dream worlds where Mushroom Women act as teachers, mourners, or guides. Thus, assimilation seems less like force and more like initiation into another way of life.
Testing
- Blood Analysis: Blood works like a shifting spore-fluid, changing structure between samples. No stable type exists.
- Spore Growth: Attempts to grow spores either fail fast or expand wildly, covering labs within a day. As a result, containment teams halted long-term culture projects.
- Mind Shields: Neural dampeners slow the effect but fail after eighteen minutes. Users suffer lasting brain damage. Therefore, shields cannot be trusted for field use.
- Heat Exposure: Burning stops spores, but the fire releases gases that kill unprotected staff. Consequently, fire-based removal is only a last resort.
- Magnetic Tests: Low-frequency fields disrupt spore clouds but also increase voice strength, which makes visions worse. Hence, teams avoid this method.
History
Stories in the Mirror World call the 13HRP – 0013 – Mushroom Women “The Wives of Rot.” Tales say they appear in autumn when decay is strongest, tied to mourning rites for a forest god whose death feeds the land. Songs linked to them show symbols close to those found with 13HRP – 0003, suggesting a shared origin.
Poems describe their touch as “a marriage of death and soil,” a phrase found in many regions. In some ruins, shrines to them have been uncovered, marked with ring symbols carved into rotting wood. At one site, people grew fungal blooms on shrine walls, treating decay itself as holy.
Because of this, experts disagree on their meaning. Some believe the Mushroom Women act as living forms of natural decay, showing rot as sacred. Others think worshippers used cult practice to trigger assimilation on purpose. Therefore, their history remains unsettled.
Overall Assessment
Direct attack is rare, but contamination is total. Breathing spores over time changes the body until the person no longer counts as human. Consequently, containment requires:
- Full hazard suits with oxygen supply.
- Immediate burning of all clothing and gear touched by spores.
- Quarantine of exposed staff for sixty days.
- Regular checks for shared dream states or ritual visions.
Moreover, current studies also compare Mushroom Women to 13HRP – 6666 – Death Room (possible spore-blood link) and Slayer 9 Beast 0666 (shared ritual forms). Results suggest they may all form part of one dark ecology tied to decay and change. Thus, the threat extends beyond single encounters.
Instant Report – ██/██/████
Filed by: Operative [REDACTED]
Clearance Level: Ultra
Summary:
A spore outbreak began at Facility ██, near a migration path of Mushroom Women. Spores leaked into the vents and spread through several sublevels in hours. Many staff were hit at once. About half died quickly. The rest changed into fungal-human hybrids with many shapes. None could be returned to normal. Containment teams captured surviving hybrids for study. Consequently, the outbreak proved far more destructive than expected.
Casualties & Effects:
- Deaths: About 50% of staff died within minutes.
- Survivors: The rest turned into hybrids with different cap sizes, spore levels, and skin growth.
- Mind Effects: Survivors shared dream states, echoed voices, and showed ritual behaviour.
- Environment: The site rotted fast. Fungal growth spread through walls and vents within thirty-six hours, cutting strength of the building by 22% in a week. Therefore, long-term use of the facility was ruled out.
Security Breach:
One insider opened vents on purpose to let spores spread. When questioned, they said they wanted to “speed humanity’s rebirth through fungus.” Consequently, they were sent to 13HRP – 5555 – Black Hole for questioning and final holding. Moreover, new rules were added to detect insider threats before they can cause harm.
Directive
All staff must note: sabotage will not be allowed. Any further cases will lead to transfer to extreme sites or permanent removal. Therefore, research must continue to study spore events, ritual spread, and blood effects to learn whether the Mushroom Women come from outside or represent the next step of human change in the Mirror World. Furthermore, teams must submit regular reports to track cultural as well as biological spread.
