Description
Object 13HRP – 0061 – Cigarette Box is a battered, metallic case with tarnished engravings of spirals and faded clown motifs. Its surface never warms, even when held in human hands, and the hinge creaks like bone instead of metal. In addition, despite appearing to hold no more than twenty cigarettes at once, the Cigarette Box is endlessly self-replenishing. Removal of one cigarette immediately causes another to slide into place, as if pulled from a depth beyond physical space. Consequently, the Cigarette Box always tempts new users.
The cigarettes vary in shape, brand, and even era:
- Some are modern, machine-rolled.
- Others are hand-rolled with paper dated centuries old.
- Rare instances include writhing cigarettes made of hair, bone dust, or bleeding parchment.
When lit, these anomalous cigarettes release smoke that twists perception. As a result, witnesses describe the smoke as “a second mirror world layered on top of this one.” Furthermore, prolonged exposure often leads to confusion, disorientation, and paranoia, all linked back to the Cigarette Box.
