13HRP – 0056 – Iron Cage
Description
Entity 13HRP – 0056 – Iron Cage is a human-sized containment structure forged from black iron, lined with jade rims that glow faintly under low light. The cage stands approximately 2.2 meters tall and 1.5 meters wide, with intricate latticework resembling spirals and runes. At first glance it looks ordinary; however, prolonged viewing without specialized jade-filter goggles (classified as Protocol-56 Optics) quickly leads to cognitive entrapment.
Properties
- Mind Lock: When observed directly, subjects report hearing metallic groans and distant chains. Within thirty seconds, the cage begins to “pull” their perception inward. As a result, they describe being inside the cage regardless of their physical location.
- Time Displacement: Once trapped mentally, time slows to 1/13th of normal speed. Consequently, one minute outside equals thirteen minutes perceived inside. Victims often emerge with fragmented memories, and many believe they spent entire days imprisoned.
- Resonance Effect: The jade rims hum at low frequencies when approached. Although audio devices cannot record this hum, subjects insist the sound echoes “behind their eyes.”
- Recursive Entrapment: Even after visual contact ends, many relive the cage’s interior in dreams. In severe cases, they never recover, claiming they are “still inside.”
Behavior
The Iron Cage itself does not move or shift physically. Instead, its effect operates entirely through perception. Those caught within its influence often experience their bodies “mirroring” inside the cage, while their actual form collapses outside. Furthermore, medical scans show neural activity spiking erratically during this state. Patterns resemble seizures, yet no muscular convulsions occur.
Containment Protocols
- Entity 0056 must remain within a triple-shielded chamber at all times.
- Observation requires jade-filter goggles; therefore, direct exposure without them is strictly forbidden.
- Personnel affected must undergo immediate sensory isolation and dream-cleansing protocols to avoid recursive lock.
Cross References
- 13HRP – 0051 – Mirror World: The Iron Cage often appears near collapsed Mirror Temples. This suggests it once functioned as a ritual prison.
- 13HRP – 0053 – Silvia Zilutic: Silvia has been observed staring at the Iron Cage for extended periods without effect. Consequently, she may possess partial immunity.
- 13HRP – 0000 – Book of Dead Gods: Runes carved on the cage shift to match symbols seen in the Book, implying a shared origin.
- 13HRP – 0055 – GrandMirror Priestess: Reports describe her using the cage as a throne during rituals, compelling initiates to kneel before it.
Incident Report 56-A Filed ██/██/████, Site ██.
Three operatives attempted transport of Entity 0056. Despite wearing goggles, one operative glanced at the cage through a cracked lens. Immediately, he collapsed with eyes wide open. Neurological readings suggested he endured 91 hours of captivity in under seven minutes. When revived, he stated: “The cage is empty because it’s full. We all fit inside.” Later, he refused food, repeating: “Iron does not eat, but it keeps us.”
Assessment
Entity 0056 – Iron Cage functions as more than a physical prison. Instead, it operates as a tool of mental domination. It highlights the Mirror World’s tendency to weaponize perception itself. Whether it was built to contain humans, anomalies, or gods remains unresolved.
